New Sunday Pants

Clark has been growing, as kids do, so he's been wearing "floods" to church for a little while. A couple weeks ago, as I was inspired by the sewing bloggers' Spring kids clothing week challenge, I decided to make him some new pants. After I finished the first pair I thought I might as well make another while I was in pants-making mode. So he got two new pairs of pants in one week.
This was the first pair I made from a pair of women's linen pants I purchased for $2. I made them with a slim fitting leg and plenty of length to grow into.
The next pair is made from a pair of Steve's old pants I reclaimed from the donation pile. These are more of a straight leg style. The best part about using pants to make pants is that I reuse the hem, linings, zipper, and button(s).
Total cost of 2 [cute] new pairs of pants: $2!

I'd love to see a tutorial on this. Do you know where one is?

@Christianne I used a pattern from the Ottobre Design magazine, Winter 2011. I added an inch to the rise in the front and back and modified the legs on both pair since the pattern makes a very skinny pant.
