Seriously

The comment I get most often from strangers about Clark is that "he's such a serious baby!"  When he was just a day old, one of his nurses commented about how serious he was.  I found that to be pretty funny since, after all, I am married to Serious Steve.  Little did I know then how many more people would make that same "serious baby" comment.  

Last night, for instance, a couple we were sitting nearby at dinner couldn't stop making comments like "he's so serious! he should be on one of those talking baby commercials." har har.  I can't tell a difference between serious and non-serious babies but whatever Clark happens to be I love him like crazy and feel so privileged to be his mom.

p.s.  The second most popular stranger comment is about his tongue.

Roll with it

My little baby can roll onto his tummy now.  He's only done it for me 3 or 4 times, but when I got the camera out today he felt like showing off.  Here he is, hamming it up as he performs his new skill:

As I watch Clark learn something new--without specifically being taught how--it seems to me as if he's always known what to do and how to do it.  Babies are fascinating!  

Client Fitting

While I do a lot of sewing for Clark, he's not the easiest to work with on fittings.  I made him a new white Sunday shirt this week and ended up having to guess on the length of the sleeves since this is how our fitting session went:
