WIP

This is my latest work in progress:

Last Sunday I snuck downstairs while Steve was napping to surprise him with cinnamon rolls.  Coincidentally, that was also what my sweet tooth was most interested in that day!  Do I know how to make cinnamon rolls?  Being the antithesis of a baking goddess that I am, NO, but I'm learning that few things--including lack of knowledge--can stand in the way of a pregnant lady and food making wonderful treats for her husband.  I used the Lion House Cinnamon Roll recipe and the first batch were deformed blobs (see above).  The second batch I made later in the week were much improved.  Pretty soon I'm going to be better at making these than anyone else in my house.

Stuck in a Rut

This is what happens when your neighborhood has ditches instead of sidewalks.  Don't feel bad, van driver.  You're not the first and certainly not the last to do this!

Something to Write Home About

This landmark event took place in our neighborhood this week:

No train horn!  

The noise wasn't terrible in our current house but my previous residence down the street was only 100 feet from the tracks.  The house would rumble and we had to use our "train voices" whenever a train passed.  I smiled to myself a couple days ago when all I could hear of the train was a faint bell ringing.

Tan in Town

Dear Supertan,

Thank you for allowing one of your top employees to spend her birthday 600 miles away.  You might be interested to know that she voluntarily advertised for your establishment via the Supertan camo...and tan, of course, in the Houston market.  She appeared to have enjoyed her time here, except while being photographed next to Mr. and Mrs. Steve B.  weird!

Chalk Walk

Last Sunday was so beautiful in Bountiful that we took a (very short) stroll "downtown" to check out the sidewalk chalk festival with my parents.  I liked the concept, and it appeared to have been a fun activity for young and mature artists alike.  The pieces ranged from panels of scribbling to intricate illustrations, with obligatory BYU/UofU fanhood declarations, anime, and Disney characters strewn across the walkways.

Cute Potential

After spending some time with some of our nephews recently, I feel pretty good about our baby's CP, or cute potential.  For example, here are the 2-year olds:

It's Official

My sister was married on Saturday.  Beautiful day.  Beautiful bride. Beautiful wedding. 

Aren't weddings so fun?!  One of the reasons why I like weddings is the whole matching outfit aspect.  Getting the whole family together is fun, but put them in coordinated outfits, and you've got a party on your hands.  Such a fun day.  Congratulations to the newlyweds!

4 for 4

This Saturday we'll be 4 for 4 siblings to be married.  Here's the blushing bride herself.  She took a unique approach to the whole bridal photo shoot:

j/k.  This is her in assistant mode at my bridals.  I'm pretty sure she didn't wear a puffy coat and gloves for hers, but I'll find out for sure later this week!

Ripe

I went outside and found this waiting for me.  I thought the trio of colors was so clever I had to take a picture.  You have no idea how long we've been waiting for these babies to turn red!  I hope this is the beginning of a plentiful tomato harvest... 

Big Bag Lady

I finished my first bag using the homespun pattern I created last week.  For the next one I promised I won't use JoAnn clearance fabric...though this is pretty decent compared to some stuff haunting my sewing closet.  Steve has seen enough "I bought this because it was cheap" (aka UGLY) fabric that he's advised me to stay away from that section of the store entirely.
      

I would like to point out that this picture was intended to act as a 2-for-1 for any curious readers.  If any of you are like me, you like to see at least one picture of your distant friends "with child."  That said, it's not that I've been avoiding taking "belly shots"...it's just that I usually don't stumble across occasions to photograph my midriff.  I know--weird.
