O.W.E.

This is Baby O--our other reason for going to Dallas last weekend.  We met her for the first time and got to see her all dressed up in white at her baby blessing.  As you can see, she's very expressive!

Bubbles and Birthdays

Steve and I were in Dallas this weekend to help celebrate our niece's 3rd birthday.  I think Steve had as much fun running around outside as she did.

One Year Ago Today...

...my sweetheart and I were sealed for time and all eternity.  Steve's aunt was right: Broadbent men make the best husbands.  Of course mine's the best of the best, but I won't tell her that.  I love you, Steve!  I'm so lucky you're mine!

Celtics in Our City

Remember our early St. Patrick's Day celebration in San Antonio?  We kept the celebrations alive by going to see Celtics perform this weekend.  Boston Celtics, that is, playing our very own Houston Rockets.  Thanks to our friends for showing us a great night on the town!  and that wraps up St. Patrick's Day for us...until next year!

Cowboys and Country Music

Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo 2010 did not disappoint!  Steve pulled some strings at work to get us tickets for last night, knowing his wife had particular interest in the group slated to perform.  Unlike the company we were with, we only went 1 out of the 20 days the rodeo is in town.  We arrived just in time to catch all the PRCA action...

...then Lady Antebellum rocked Reliant Stadium!

Those people can sing!  They put on one of the best performances I've ever heard live.  I loved it so much I couldn't hide the goofy grin on my face when the lights came back up.  I love the rodeo and good country music!

Old San Antone

Steve took me on a surprise trip to San Antonio this weekend.  We got there Friday night and shared a Mexican dinner on the riverwalk.  The next day we rode the river taxi around to see the sights and scout out some famous breakfast tacos.  As it turned out, there was a huge St. Patrick's Day celebration going on all day in the city so we probably looked foreign in our greenless wardrobe.

We toured the Alamo in the afternoon and had alternating Irish and Mexican tunes in our head all day, thanks to the St. Patrick's fiesta.  The weather was perfect--Spring's finally here--and it was such a fun alternative to Saturday chores!

Steve is so good at planning vacations for us--we always have a great time!

Garage Project

Yesterday I completed a mini-project in the garage. I ordered some hanging storage from amazon.com that had gotten good reviews. I thought this would be a good place to store our christmas decor and free up some space in the closet for other uses like food storage or the such.

The instructions say that the installation should take about 1 hour, but that turned out to be fairly aggressive. The hardest part was the nailing and drilling into the garage ceiling. The most helpful tools were the little giant ladder, power drill, and socket wrench. The exxon safety glasses were also helpful at keeping the particles and dust out of my eyes. Kalina loves to do house projects.
