10 Months

This guy is the big 10 months. 

Likes: standing & cruising, climbing stairs, doors, books, figuring out anything mechanical, carrying objects around, practicing facial expressions, splashing, flipping rugs over, playing with Dad, dancing with Mom, bouncing when excited  

Dislikes: bananas, getting dressed or changed, having something taken away

Motivated by: discovery   

Says: "dadada", "mamama" (when upset)

New Styles for Summer

Little Clarkie and I made some changes to our looks for summer.  I checked into the salon (Whitney's the best!) for a new 'do. I call it "topknot." sweet, huh? I especially love the clips on the sides--they balance out the look.  

Actually, though, this is mid-chop. I didn't think I'd ever try short(er) hair--ever--unless I had a sudden burst of bravery. This cut, though, wasn't one of courage but one of "I better get to a salon before I do it myself." I had grown weary of my (way too) long scraggly mane that was always pulled back to avoid becoming a painful pull toy. So...Mane and I parted ways. happily. no tears were shed. 

and Clark here is sporting his first pearly whites. They appeared without warning. razor sharp! No signs or symptoms of teething besides the teeth themselves. He and I are both lucky I guess.

The Ultimate Toy

May I present the ultimate baby toy:

My wallet has recently beat out Steve's Blackberry to top the chart of Clark's Favorite Toys. It comes out in last resort situations e.g. the third hour of church, restaurants, or car rides when we're overdue for a nap. Clark has already ripped off the trim and is very adept at emptying out the contents, occasionally creating more challenging scavenger hunts for me than I would prefer. Incidentally, I predict he will be receiving his own wallet in the very near future...

City Pool

Last night we checked out the city pool nearby our house. The pool is the place  to be during the TX summers. Clark is really into splashing water with his hands so he was having a great time.  After 15 minutes a whistle blew and everyone was ordered out of the pool to line up outside before re-entering. We went home at that point, but had a fun time during our brief swim.
