Splish Splash

To make it more bearable here during the summer months, the City of Houston maintains several pools and splash pads for its citizens to enjoy. We took Clark to our local splash pad and he loved it. He's not so much into the concept of getting water in his face so he'd run back to Steve and me every couple of minutes for a quick dry off. Steve thought goggles might remedy the situation but Clark took them off due to their high nerd factor. The bigger kids loved to shepherd little Clark around and showed him the best places to enjoy the water. We'll be back here for sure.

Wiggin'

Clark and I cleaned out one of our closets last week. We found some fun wigs so of course we had to try them all on and admire our new 'dos.

Clark loves trying on Daddy's shoes. This time he had help and got the socks to go with them. He was laughing about it, but of course when I went to grab a picture this is the face I got. ha ha.

Dressed up for Dad

Clark put on his summery Sunday seersucker best (my latest creation) for his daddy today to wish him a Happy Father's Day. Clark loves his daddy, especially when he chases him around the house, takes him swimming, plays in the pillows with him, lets him pretend to drive the cars, feeds him dinner, and gets him out of bed in the morning. He seemed to dislike being photographed with Dad in the Houston heat, but gave him kisses anyway.

5 Generations and a new hobby

I try to learn a new skill or hobby every year. Last year it was knitting. This year, I decided to delve deeper into graphic design using Adobe Illustrator. So this month I'm taking Illustrator 101 online through nicolesclasses.com. Our first assignment was to create a typographic poster. The first idea that popped into my head was a 5-generation genealogy chart. I've been dying to make one ever since I first ran across mytreeandme.com via a Martha Stewart magazine years ago. I love the mix of modern art and genealogy and it was interesting to research all the names using the new.familysearch.org.
